Who we are

PhotoDump publishes the PhotoDump app for iOS and this website. You can reach us about anything privacy-related at privacy@photodump.life.

The app: what we collect

Nothing. The app has no user accounts, no sign-up, and no login. It makes no network requests and communicates with no server of ours, because we do not operate one for it. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, and no third-party code of any kind in the app.

Because your data never reaches us, there is no database of it to breach, sell, subpoena or leak.

The app: what it asks permission for

iOS will ask you for the following. Each is used only for the feature described, only on your device, and you can refuse or revoke any of them in Settings → Privacy & Security at any time.

The app explains why it needs each one on the screen before the request, and then always shows you Apple’s own permission prompt — the choice is made there, by you. Declining is a normal outcome: nothing is asked twice, and the app’s main screen tells you which features are limited and links you to Settings if you later change your mind.

• Photo library (read) — so you can pick the photos you want to turn into a dump. The app reads the images you select.
• Photo library (add) — so a finished dump can be saved back to your own library when you ask it to.
• Location, while using the app — so photo dumps can be grouped and labelled by place. Location is used as you use the app and is not stored anywhere off your device.

The app: everything happens on your device

Photo analysis and curation run locally using Apple frameworks that ship with iOS — Photos, Vision and Core Location.

On iOS 26 and later, the app can also use Apple’s on-device Foundation Models language model to write captions. That model runs on your device; no prompt, photo or caption is sent to Apple, to us, or to any other AI provider. On earlier versions, and whenever the model is unavailable, the app falls back to built-in templates.

No photo, caption, location or any other content is uploaded anywhere by the app.

The app: what we do not do

To be explicit, the app does not:

• Track you across apps or websites. It does not use App Tracking Transparency because it has nothing to ask for.
• Contain any advertising, ad network or attribution SDK.
• Use your photos to train AI models, ours or anyone else’s.
• Sell or share personal information. Under the CCPA/CPRA we do not sell or share personal information, and there is nothing to opt out of.

The app: Apple’s role

The app is distributed through the App Store, so Apple processes your download and any purchase under Apple’s own privacy policy — we never see who you are.

If you have turned on “Share With App Developers” in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may give us aggregate crash and usage statistics. That is an Apple setting under your control, not something the app collects, and it does not identify you.

The app: your data and your rights

Everything the app creates is stored on your device. To delete it all, delete the app — that removes its data with it. To stop a specific permission, revoke it in iOS Settings.

There is no account to close and no data of yours held by us, so an access, correction, deletion or portability request has nothing to act on for the app. Those rights do apply to the website, and to any email you send us; write to us and we will respond within one month.

Children and the age check

PhotoDump is for people aged 13 and over and is not directed at younger children. As the app collects no data at all, it collects none from children either.

During onboarding the app asks for your date of birth once, on a single screen, before it asks for any other permission.

Your answer is written to your device’s own storage and nowhere else — it is not transmitted to us, to Apple or to anyone else, and deleting the app deletes it with everything else. If it puts you under 13, the app does not open. It re-checks on each launch, so access begins automatically on your thirteenth birthday without you having to do anything.

This website

The website is separate from the app and does use cookies and similar technologies.

Strictly necessary storage keeps the site working and remembers your cookie choice. Analytics (Google Analytics and PostHog) and marketing (Meta Pixel) are loaded only if you consent, and are denied by default. You can change or withdraw consent at any time from the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

Some of those providers process data outside the EEA, including in the United States, under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses. None of this applies to the app.

Cookie Policy

The early-access waitlist

If you sign up for early access on this site, we store the data below so we can email you the invitation when the app launches. Submitting the form is the consent for this (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR); nothing is stored if you do not use the form.

This list is used only to contact you about PhotoDump availability. It is not shared with or sold to anyone, and it is not combined with the website analytics above. The data is stored with Upstash, our database provider, which acts as a processor for us and may process data in the EU and the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses.

You can ask us to show or delete your entry at any time by writing to privacy@photodump.life. We delete the list once the launch invitations have been sent, or earlier on request.

• The email address you enter
• The language you used on the site and your browser language
• Your IP address, and the approximate location (country, region, city, timezone) derived from it
• Your browser type (user agent) and the date of signup

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we will update the date below and, where the change is significant, say so in the app or on this site.
